Leasing Services (a trading name of Allied Leasing B.V.) started its operations in April 1988.
For over 2 decades we have provided management and consultancy services to internationally operating financial institutions such as Amro Bank, AT&T Capital, Banque Nationale de Paris, Central Hispano, Chase, Copelco, Heller Financial, Siemens Financial Services and Svenska Finans.
Early 2006 we discovered a ‘niche’ in the market.
• Especially in Europe, many internationally operating equipment manufacturers have country specific revenues which are too low to generate a serious interest from larger equipment financing companies.
• Two decades of European experience have brought us a vast network of individuals with senior positions within these financing companies. If we, at Leasing Services would handle all the sales, marketing and training aspects towards these manufacturers and distributors, there would be an appetite to provide the financing.
• So the ‘niche’ was discovered: bridging between equipment manufacturers and financial institutions and on an international scale – a next step to take: in which market segment?
• Merely by coincident, we got into contact with the CFO of a professional lighting manufacturer. We followed this up by a market survey which lead to the conclusion (a) that financing in this market was relatively under developed, (b) that only the market leader in this segment was actively offering the financing of his products, (c) that the total size of the market was fairly substantial but that –due to the large number of manufacturers- the country specific volumes would probably be relatively low. In other words: an environment in which we could make the difference.
• International financing programs were developed and concluded with parties such as High End Systems (now Barco), Clay Paky, DTS Lighting, SGM and Robe (please click on the names to visit their web sites).
• For the refinancing of the equipment we concluded agreements with parties such as De Lage Landen (Rabobank), UniCredit Leasing, Raiffeisen Leasing International, ING Lease, Fortis Lease, Key Equipment Finance, Siemens Financial Services and numerous smaller and locally operating financial institutions. This enabled us to offer equipment financing in more then 30 countries.
• Without moving away from the lighting segment, it was a logical step to also move into the area of professional sound. After all, like in lighting, the equipment maintains good value for a relatively long period of time and many of our ‘lighting customers’ (e.g. the larger rental companies) are also active in the sound area.
• Another interesting development is the merger of the worlds of automated lighting and digital video projection. And even there it does not stop – multimedia is the next station: we are proud to have arranged financing of a large number of LED Display Screens manufactured by Lighthouse Technologies and which were used in Austria and Switzerland during the UEFA Euro 2008 Football Championship. We have satisfied and returning customers for the financing of projectors manufactured by Christie Digital. We received financing requests for Thomson manufactured ‘VIPER Stream’ film cameras etc.
• Our target market appears to continue to grow because of new product/market combinations. However, whichever segment we operate in, we will remain committed to our philosophy of continuously being ‘dedicated to the best performance’.
